Korouoma Frozen Waterfalls

Your day begins with convenient pickups in Rovaniemi, followed by a visit to the Rovaniemi Insider office where you’ll receive warm winter clothing and gear for the adventure ahead. Once everyone is ready, we begin our scenic drive toward Korouoma Canyon.

Relax during the drive through the beautiful Arctic landscapes of Finnish Lapland. Along the way, your guide will share stories about the region, local nature, and the unique geology of the Korouoma Nature Reserve.

Arriving at Korouoma Canyon, we begin our guided winter hike through snowy forest trails and into the dramatic canyon landscape. The route takes you through peaceful Arctic nature surrounded by towering cliffs and frozen scenery.

Witness the breathtaking frozen waterfalls of Korouoma, where enormous ice formations hang from the canyon walls like natural sculptures. Your guide will lead you to the best viewpoints while sharing stories and insights about the area, its wildlife, and the unique winter conditions that create these spectacular ice formations.

During the hike, we stop for a traditional Finnish-style barbecue beside an open fire. Warm drinks and grilled snacks provide the perfect opportunity to relax, enjoy the peaceful surroundings, and take in the beauty of the winter wilderness.

After the hike back to the vehicle, we begin our return drive to Rovaniemi. Once back at the office, winter clothing is returned before final drop-offs to your accommodation, ending an unforgettable day exploring one of Lapland’s most iconic winter destinations.
