The Kätkävaara caves are a lesser-known natural wonder nestled in the same captivating landscape as the Kätkävaara hiking track. While not as extensively documented as some major tourist attractions, these caves add an extra layer of intrigue and mystery to the region. Whether you are a seasoned explorer or a casual hiker, these caves enrich the overall experience of visiting the Kätkävaara area, inviting you to discover a quiet, mysterious side of the Finnish wilderness.

Program

  1. Meeting at our office

    The trip starts by meeting your guide at our office at 16:45. 

  2. Transportation to Kätkävaara

    At 17:00 we take a 1 hour drive by car to the Kätkävaara and along the way you can be amazed by the beautiful views of Lapland.

  3. Hiking and BBQ

    After arriving we will take a scenic hike along the route for 3,5-5 hours while seeing beautiful nature, caves and after July berries can be found and picked. We will also stop for a barbeque at a fireplace and enjoy some sausages and drinks.

  4. Transportation back to the city

    After the hike we will start our 1 hour drive back to Rovaniemi.

Camera or Smartphone: To capture the stunning views, berries, and the caves.
Small Daypack: To carry your layers, camera, water bottle, and any personal items.
Personal Medications: Any personal meds, blister plasters, etc.
Binoculars (Optional): For bird‑watching and spotting wildlife in the forest.
